Fernando Lelo de Larrea y de Haro
As a relevant player in Mexico's entrepreneurial ecosystem, Fernando is one of the most important and active early stage investors in Mexico. He has extensive experience in operational and financial aspects of private equity, project finance, and managing growing businesses. Fernando co-founded ALLVP in 2012 and has since invested in over 24 companies in sectors such as healthcare, financial services, mobility, and e-commerce. Additionally, he co-founded NUMA Mexico (Formerly Venture Institute), the leading startup accelerator platform, and Fondeadora, LATAM's pioneer crowdfunding platform that was sold to Kickstarter in 2016.
After his tenure as COO and CFO of Umbral Capital, Fernando became CEO of the real estate private equity fund where he was responsible for managing USD$ 50M in capital commitments and continued as Chairman of the Board after founding ALLVP. Before Umbral Capital, Fernando was Deputy Director of the Division of Energy and Project Finance in Protego Asesores, now Evercore Partners.
Fernando holds an MBA from Stanford GSB, an MA in Economics from the London School of Economics, and a BA in Economics from ITAM. He is a lecturer at ITAM, as well as a board member at ITAM's Epic Lab. He is also a board member of Marhnos and an investment committee member in the CKD vehicles of Acon Investments and Riverstone.
